GEOFF SKINGSLEY
Managing Director, Africa, Middle East Zone
52, has been in L’Oréal for 25 years.
EducationHe was educated at Cranbrook School in the UK and spent six months at the Sorbonne in Paris before reading Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford.CareerOn graduating he joined Procter & Gamble in their Marketing Department, becoming Brand Manager before leaving to join L'Oréal in 1986. After a spell as Marketing Manager of the L'Oréal Paris Division in London, he moved to Holland as General Manager, Consumer Products Division, incorporating the L'Oréal, Garnier, Gemey and SBI Fragrance businesses.
In 1994 he moved to India to set up a new business for L'Oréal, managing a new subsidiary, a factory and creating both the Consumer and Professional hairdressing Divisions. The Garnier, L’Oréal and Maybelline brands were launched in India during this period along with training academies and products for PPD.
In 1999, he became Managing Director for L’Oreal UK, with overall responsibility for the Consumer and Professional Divisions as well as the industrial plant in Wales.
From 2004, Geoff Skingsley was Deputy Director for Human Resources for the L’Oreal Group based in Paris, and in January 2005 he was nominated Executive Vice-President, Human Resources for the L’Oréal Group.
On October 2011, he has been entrusted with the new position of Managing Director, Africa, Middle East Zone.
