Education A Belgian national, Jean-Philippe Blanpain has an MA in philosophy, a degree in chemical engineering and a doctorate in molecular biology. He lives in Paris with his son, Lou, and his wife, Line, who is an artist. Career Jean-Philippe Blanpain joined L’Oréal in 1990 as head of Industrial Chemistry in Belgium.
After several operational positions in various plants, Jean-Philippe Blanpain was appointed Technical Director for Europe before taking a functional position as Head of the “Production and Logistics” Department. He then managed technical coordination for Asia and South America before leaving for the U.S. in October 2005 as Technical Director for North America. In June 2007, he was appointed Managing Director Operations worldwide and became a member of the Group Executive Committee.
