The Diversity Best Practices Global Leadership Award in 2004
In 2004, L’Oréal was named the first-ever recipient of Diversity Best Practices' Global Leadership Award for the company’s ongoing commitment to creating an environment of diversity and inclusion for L’Oréal’s employees, customers and suppliers.
The Diversity Best Practices 2004 Global Leadership Award recognizes the world's most progressive companies and their leaders for embracing diversity in markets, workforces and communities. L’Oréal is honored for creating a corporate culture that embraces and drives diversity throughout the company.
"We are honored to receive the first global award in recognition of our diversity initiatives," says Mr. Owen-Jones."Our company culture fosters and values diversity. To a large extent, our strength comes from the diversity of our teams. People of all origins and cultures, different ages and levels of experience work together everyday, stimulating innovation and fostering personal growth," he added.
Criteria for this distinguished award include a commitment to diversity through corporate initiatives, special recognition of community, philanthropic and supplier diversity, chairing and supporting diversity councils and ensuring top management support.
"L’Oréal’s efforts to make diversity a business imperative as much as a social one are not just worthy of recognition, they are an extraordinary example for other companies to follow," said Ms. Edie Fraser, President and founder of Diversity Best Practices and the Business Women’s Network. "Lindsay Owen-Jones lives diversity and he is taking advantage of every opportunity to create a new business culture that is progressive, inclusive and, most importantly, lucrative as diversity has a bottom line. We commend him and L’Oréal for their global leadership."
