Scholarships fostering equal opportunities
Fostering equal access to knowledge and paths of excellenceEqual opportunities are essential in higher learning, and enable each young person who makes the choice, to continue their studies in the best possible conditions, whatever their socio-economic or cultural origins. The Foundation mainly supports programmes with high schools, where the aim is to open up access to their "classes préparatoires" (post-Bac intensive study courses to apply for the "grandes écoles") for excellent pupils from underprivileged environments:
- Lycée Claude Bernard - the "Prépa Plus" programme as part of the government's "Equal opportunities" project. Ten pupils accepted into the science and economic preparatory classes.
- Lycée Louis Le Grand - "Cordées de la réussite" programme as part of the government's "Equal opportunities" project. Integration of eight primary school children into the fifth form and assistance for five years, i.e. up to the end of the preparatory classes.
- Lycée Henri IV - "Cordées de la réussite" programme. Support for a pre-preparatory class of 29 pupils over three years, and sponsorship of nine pupils by L’Oréal staff.
- Fratelli - support from the association, a link between high schools and firms, mobilised as part of a partnership with the - Lycée Henri IV.
- Sciences Po Accessible - a programme which gives disabled young people the tools they need to succeed in their studies. The L’Oréal Foundation financed part of the renovation of the Sciences-po reception hall (ramps, specially reception desk, computer and study room equipped), a disability awareness campaign and international mobility grants to enable disabled students to go abroad.
- Promotion des Talents, an association created by C. Bébéar and J-C Naouri. Allocation of a two-year fellowship to a well-deserving student.
- Marcel Bleustein Blanchet. 20 fellowships intended for young French and European people living in France, who have shown real proof of a specific vocation.
- Arpejeh. Association co-founded by L’Oréal. « equal opportunities" fellowships for disabled individuals.
Involving staff
L’Oréal employees can volunteer to sponsor a pupil from the high schools supported by the L’Oréal Foundation. Students benefit in this way from an opening into the company's world through visits to sites, presentations of business lines or participation in introductory courses.
- “Promotion des Talents” scholarships
Programme to help students from mainstream, technical and vocational schools in France and in the country’s overseas departments and territories taking classes to prepare for the Grandes Ecoles entrance exams.
