Educational support at the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie

The L’Oréal Foundation has been associated with this project since its creation during the 2006/2007 academic year. Designed for pupils at primary and secondary schools in the north-east of Paris, the aim of the programme is to help these young people overcome their difficulties in science, often the reason why they do poorly at school. The Cité des sciences et de l'industrie provides a work space inside the science library and media library, and offers free personal tutoring provided by Grande Ecole students selected by the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles.

The APSV trains these students from the Grandes Ecoles on how to meet the specific needs of these pupils. The pupils are voluntary, and highly motivated by the fact that the program is free-of-charge and anonymous. More than 4000 tutoring sessions have been held since the start of the project.
