OBSERVING THE SKIN

No two skins are identical. This skin is, certainly, a living organ but also a material made up of several layers with different mechanical, elastic and optical properties giving it a multitude of aspects and behaviour patterns that vary according to age, sex, ethnic origin, etc.
Many physicists, biologists and chemists analysed the skin's properties. Some of them, working at L'Oral, have developed methods using instruments or imaging techniques to obtain a more objective view of our life envelope.
