Security has always been the primary concern of the division's production units. To respond to commitments made to consumers, Active Cosmetics Production has implemented very high standards for control procedures.

The site's industrial laboratory controls all in-coming raw materials to confirm composition and required standards. This identification procedure can include infrared or fluorescence spectometry.

Regular targeted testing such as the level of active ingredients, level of impurities, dropping points, solvency tests, or dosage are performed using over 50 methods to ensure that the brands' ingredient specifications are met.

Each product batch undergoes physico-chemical monitoring for smell, colour and consistency by comparing it to a validated sample. The quality laboratory also checks intrinsic formula characteristics such as viscosity, microscopic aspect and pH levels. Tests using HPLC (High performance liquid chromatography) or spectophotometry (solar filters, preservatives, active ingredients) monitor regulatory dosages as well as microbiological purity.

Packaged products are also checked along the production line. Criteria such as aspect, matching ingredient lists, lot number, functionality, level of filling, water resistance, screwing torques, or bonding for tubes, are verified.

The traceability of raw materials, packaging elements and finished products is ensured by an SAP linked to the lot number marked on each finished product. The traceability works both before and after production.
