Diversity: L’Oréal implements a day-to-day control tool

A control panel consisting of thirty indicators now permits L’Oréal to permanently measure its actions against discrimination and for the promotion of diversity, at global level and within each of the group’s entities.

Driven by the conviction that the promotion and management of diversity in HR policies constitute a powerful lever for the company’s social and economic performance, L’Oréal has been working with the consultancy firm Keyrus since 2011 to create a global monitoring and control tool for its diversity policy. In practical terms, it involves an IT system originating from HR SAP which will eventually be used in all 65 group subsidiaries, thus enabling them to develop their own Diversity Control Panel for monitoring age, sex, salary, number of mature workers… In total, thirty indicators that can be accessed at any time by the group’s managing directors and HR management committees. Currently, the report is available in France and a few other European countries but will soon be refined and completed for each country. The purpose of this fine-tuning? To factor in local particularities such as the legal quota policies currently applicable in the English-speaking countries. By the middle of 2013, the system should encompass all of L’Oréal’s subsidiaries.
