Plants Not Quite Like Any Other

Throughout its purchases, L’Oréal committed to empowering women and disadvantaged people in China through work and decent salaries.

In 2016, in close collaboration with committed suppliers, we launched a new Solidarity Sourcing project. The Group entrusted the production of a substantial portion of its promotional items to plants located in China, in remote, underprivileged areas of the provinces of Anhui and Hunan, which are the most affected by economic migration.

In 2016, our purchases enabled 160 people to work full-time, in their region of origin, with a decent salary. Two-thirds of employees are women; they are almost all mothers with families who thus have the possibility to provide for their needs while staying near their homes and children.
