Fast Company magazine has recognized L’Oréal’s My Skin Track UV by La Roche-Posay in two categories as part of its 2019 World Changing Ideas Awards.

My Skin Track UV, the first battery-free wearable sun-safety sensor, was named a finalist in the awards’ “Health & Wellness” category and received an additional honorable mention in the category of “General Excellence.

My Skin Track UV was developed by L'Oréal's Technology Incubator in partnership with L’Oréal’s dermatological skincare brand La Roche-Posay. It was first unveiled to acclaim as a prototype at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show. With a precise sensor that measures individual UV levels and a companion app that tracks individual exposure to pollution, pollen, and humidity, My Skin Track UV allows users to make more informed choices when it comes to their skin.

The sensor measures both UVA and UVB rays, and provides instant status updates while storing up to three months of data.

“After extensive research, we created this battery-free sensor to seamlessly integrate into the lives, and daily routines, of those using it, said We are honored that this problem-solving technology has been recognized as a World Changing Idea by Fast Company, and hope it helps people everywhere make smart, sun-safe choices.”
