L'Oréal Nordics gives back

Launches a Nordic Covid Solidarity Plan

AT L’ORÉAL NORDICS we are engaged in local initiatives to help our partners, health care providers, pharmacies, customers and suppliers across Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.

The Group’s factories, started making hydro alcoholic hand gels in March and have now ramped up their production to manufacture significant quantities over the next few weeks to support the needs. Currently 21 factories, and soon 28, are producing gels in 18 countries.

  • Solidarity with healthcare and pharmacy staff: La Roche-Posay will equip partner pharmacies in the Nordics with hydro alcoholic hand gels. These establishments are our first line of defense against coronavirus and are committed to protecting us and curbing the epidemic every day. >> 20,000 hand gels will be donated to Nordic pharmacy employees and health care professionals.
  • Solidarity with food & drug retailers: Garnier will supply and distribute hydro alcoholic hand gels free-of-charge to its Nordic food and drug retailers so that their employees, who are continuing to work to meet consumers’ basic needs, can protect themselves by following the recommended precautions. Garnier will be donating in total 1 million hand gels globally. In addition, Garnier is contributing 1 million euros to support the international Red Cross. These funds will provide urgent assistance to the most vulnerable people impacted by COVID-19. >> 40,000 hand gels will be donated to Nordic food and drug retailers.
  • Solidarity with small and medium sized entrepreneurs in our distribution networks. L’Oréal have frozen payments for smaller hair salons and perfumeries, for those whose operations have been closed due to the lock down, meaning they are able to wait with paying their invoices to L’Oréal until their businesses resume. >> Number of entrepreneurs impacted: 2800 clients in the Nordics as of now, and 75000 at a global level
  • Solidarity with our most exposed suppliers: >>L’Oréal implemented immediate payment terms for approximately 300 of our smaller suppliers in the Nordics.

Tomas Hruska, Country Managing Director Nordics: “In this exceptional crisis, I want to express my gratitude and support to all those who are taking extraordinary action to fight this pandemic. It is our responsibility to contribute to our Nordic community in every way possible and it is truly inspiring to me to see all our colleagues and partners’ engagement and willingness to do good. Our absolute priority is to contribute to the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and partners. We will continue to work tirelessly to lessen the impact of this crisis.”
