In 2011, the countries in L’Oréal’s Asia zone reached the 2015 50% reduction target for waste emissions per finished product and achieved the astounding feat of bringing the amount of waste generated per product unit down to 10.6 g.
Thanks to ambitious sludge reduction projects (for instance, the vermiculture experiment at Pune in India) and the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes (including at the Suzhou site in China), a 17% improvement was achieved in comparison with 2010.
