A Sincere Quest for Beauty and a Bold Spirit of Challenge: Shaping the Future Together with Japan

Ever since L’Oréal first entered Japan in 1963, we have remained deeply fascinated by this country. An inexhaustible source of creativity, inspiration, and innovation, Japan is one of the most important strategic hubs for the L’Oréal Groupe worldwide.
In a country where consumers possess an exceptional appreciation for beauty, the Group has continued its pursuit of beauty through our Research & Innovation Centre in Kawasaki, our luxury product-dedicated manufacturing plant in Gotemba, and two Japanese-born brands within our portfolio: shu uemura and TAKAMI. Having lived in Japan for seven years while leading the Luxe Division, I, too, have always regarded Japan as a country I deeply admire and respect.
I have the utmost respect for Japan's sincere pursuit of beauty and craftsmanship, as well as its remarkable attention to detail. Today, the world's attention is increasingly drawn to "J-Beauty," underpinned by Japan's refined aesthetic sensibility, outstanding manufacturing quality, and unwavering commitment to safety and trust. To achieve our next leap forward in a beauty market that is more dynamic and full of potential than ever before, I am convinced that what is essential is to combine speed with an entrepreneurial spirit that embraces bold challenges and is unafraid of failure.
While honoring the unique DNA of technologies and brands born in Japan, we will serve as a bridge, helping them reach the world through L'Oréal's global platform. By combining cutting-edge technology with the creativity and beauty experiences that only people can bring, and together with our approximately 3,000 colleagues across Japan, from department store counters to our factory and Research & Innovation Centre, we will create "the beauty that moves the world" while remaining close to the everyday lives of people in Japan.
