14.03.2023 - Commitment

L’Oréal Hong Kong is delighted to announce the Company has been honoured as a “Caring Company” by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for the 20th consecutive year. This accolade is in recognition of the Company’s longstanding commitment to serving the local community, prioritizing employee wellbeing and fostering environmental protection.

Over the decades, social engagement has always been an integral part of L’Oréal’s culture. Since 2010, L’Oréal Hong Kong has been supporting the community by organizing the annual Citizen Day to mobilize all employees to participate in various meaningful volunteering initiatives. Last year, our employees contributed over 420 service hours for 3 charities and schools to help students with intellectual disability develop creative expression via mandala drawing, assemble bicycles for ethnic minority children, and strengthen their social skills via interactive dodgeball games. .

Apart from the volunteering activities, L’Oréal Hong Kong hosted an online charity sale and contributed part of the proceeds HKD330,000 with in-kind donations to The Nature Conservancy, hoping to support its conservation work and public education in preserving biodiversity in Hong Kong.

L’Oréal Hong Kong has also been striving to cultivate its people-first culture by valuing employees as its most important asset. With the Group’s unique Share and Care Program, employees are able to enjoy a wide range of welfare benefits in order to address different personal and family needs, as well as the Flex reward scheme for a variety of health and wellness expense reimbursement.

At L’Oréal, acting to solve the challenges of the world is a key pillar in its “L’Oréal for the Future” global sustainability commitment. Last year, the Company joined hands with Watsons and recycling company V Cycle to expand the “Beauty for the Future” citywide campaign, with an aim to inspire consumers to take action on recycling. The L’Oréal Hong Kong office has also been implementing various green practices, which enables the Company to achieve carbon neutrality since 2020. With its exceptional efforts and performance in sustainability, the Company successfully received wide recognition from a range of local awards.

Eva Yu, President and Managing Director of L’Oréal Hong Kong, said, “This award marks a significant milestone for L’Oréal Hong Kong as we are celebrating our 40th anniversary this year. L’Oréal has a strong legacy in corporate social responsibility, which is one of our deeply held values leading the Company towards an ever more responsible and sustainable corporate citizenship. We look forward to harnessing our power in the beauty industry to help create a more inclusive and sustainable society.”
