The L’Oréal Groupe in Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) will have a transition of CEO, effective 1st September 2023.
After nine years as CEO of the ANZ subsidiary and 30 years within the L’Oréal Groupe, Rodrigo Pizarro will soon move to a new strategic role within the Groupe. Rodrigo’s successor is Alex Davison, who has been the CEO of L’Oréal Groupe in Greece for the past three years.
During his time leading the ANZ team, Rodrigo has achieved historic market share and double-digit growth over the past three years. A futurist, he has demonstrated the commercial value of putting people first and building responsible, sustainable and inclusive brands.
Rodrigo’s success in Australia and New Zealand has been underpinned by his appreciation of technology and data as a transformative force. Revolutionising the analytics capability, he has created a market leading digital business with a strong focus on data analytics and AI.
As a leader, Rodrigo has inspired purpose and driven exceptional performance, mitigating the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the business and securing the highest employee engagement results to date.
Alex Davison joins as the new CEO of L’Oréal Groupe in Australia & New Zealand, after three outstanding years managing the L’Oréal Groupe subsidiary in Greece. Under his leadership, Greece has consistently been amongst the fastest growing countries in Europe, with the business delivering three years of double-digit growth and winning market share in every business channel. At the same time, he led the team to deliver on extra financial commitments that contributed to the Groupe’s achievements in sustainability, and diversity & inclusion, receiving recognition in Greece as a ‘Top 20 Company Changing the world for good’, awarded by Fortune magazine.
Alex joined the L’Oréal Groupe in 2016 as the UK General Manager of the L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty business unit. In that role, Alex significantly accelerated the business through building strong retailer partnerships and market-leading capabilities in both digital and medical. Prior to this, Alex had a 17-year career with Procter & Gamble, with a solid track record across a mix of global, regional and market roles, including acquisitions. During this time, he lived and worked in six different countries, giving him a rich international and multicultural background.
Alex is a modern and progressive leader, focused on fostering a dynamic culture where everyone is valued and everyone is contributing. Notably, the L’Oréal Groupe in Greece has been recognised as a ‘Top Employer’ in the country for the past three years.
On his upcoming move, Alex says, “I’m excited to be joining the team in Australia and New Zealand. Over the past nine years, Rodrigo has built a strong business that has people at the centre of its success. This aligns with my personal leadership values and I’m looking forward to working with the team as we build brands tailored for Australian and New Zealand consumers, and a business focused on sustainability and diversity.”
