L’Oréal is awarded an unprecedented 10th consecutive AAA rating from CDP for its commitment to environmental leadership

Clichy, France December 12, 2025 L’Oréal has been recognized with a triple-A rating by the global environmental non-profit organization CDP, for the 10th year running, for its leadership in corporate transparency, and its performance on climate change, forests and water security - becoming the first and only company to achieve this distinction.  

L’Oréal was one of only 23 companies to receive a triple-A score in 2025, out of 22,100 companies reporting this year, and the only one to get it 10 consecutive times. This distinction recognizes the deep commitment of L’Oreal to building a sustainable future.

Key achievements, in 2024, include reaching 97% renewable energy across its operated sites, sourcing 92% of its bio-based ingredients and materials in formulas and packaging from sustainable, traceable sources, and ensuring that 53% of the water used in its industrial processes comes from recycled or reused sources.

CDP’s scoring draws on a rigorous and independent methodology, aligned with the TCFD framework. It evaluates companies’ depth of reporting, understanding of environmental risks, and evidence of best practice - including ambitious target-setting and verified action. CDP maintains the world’s largest repository of environmental information and is widely relied on to guide investment and procurement decisions that support a net-zero, sustainable and earth-positive global economy. In 2025, 640 investors with $127 trillion in assets asked CDP to collect data on environmental impacts, risks and opportunities.
