A new Eau de Parfum – whose ambassador is English singer, songwriter, dancer and actress FKA twigs – expressing modern spirituality and inviting women to follow their own paths and create their own destiny. Good Fortune, a fragrance that expresses modern spirituality

An avant-garde luxury fashion house founded in 1993 by Dutch fashion artists Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, Viktor&Rolf is recognized and respected for its provocative Haute Couture and conceptual glamour. Good Fortune echoes one of Viktor&Rolf’s Haute Couture collections, Spiritual Glamour, which celebrated upcycling and sustainability in an aesthetic that referenced mysticism, white magic and witchcraft. Good Fortune aims to bring an uplifting message about a new lifestyle that connects you with your spiritual self and embraces the promise of a bright future with a single motto: “Destiny’s not a matter of chance, but a matter of choice.”

Ten years of development and more than 3,500 tries

It took perfumers Anne Flipo and Nicolas Beaulieu ten years and more than 3,500 tries to come up with the formula for Good Fortune. “It was a very long, exciting, and crazy adventure where we were given the opportunity to reinvent our creation process”, they say. “We concocted this perfume like a magic potion straight out of an ancient witchcraft book. A formula that reinterprets the art of magic with bewitching ingredients that increase the aura of the perfume tenfold.”

The magical nature of Good Fortune is based on ingredients with ancestral magical properties and innovative techniques that together create a new fragrance experience. The ingredients are a fennel and gentian co-distillate– a new olfactive alchemy –combined with a captivating Bourbon vanilla infusion and a Jasmine Grandiflorum Superinfusion. “We used a totally new technique to obtain this exclusive quality of jasmine that allows the best of the flower to be exhaled throughout this infusion, for a fruity and petal-like effect as close as possible to the living flower”, they add.

 

An ever more sustainable perfume

To create a fragrance that cares for nature, Viktor&Rolf developed a vegan formula with ingredients that are sustainably sourced and not derived from animals. The brand is continually researching new ingredients and production methods in order to achieve ever-higher levels of sustainability. These innovations will enable Viktor&Rolf to offer consumers fragrances that are always more respectful of the planet and those who cultivate its resources. The crystal ball bottle

Good Fortune comes in a mystical glass bottle that is shaped like a fortune teller’s crystal ball. On its top sits a facetted amethyst cap — a symbol of power and positive energy. “After Flowerbomb, and the good fortune that it brought us, we felt for something spiritual, with a bottle that looks like a crystal ball, symbol of what the future holds in store”, Horsting and Snoeren affirm. Made with 15% recycled glass and 100% recyclable, this refillable bottle, mesmerizes with its purple juice; suspended, as in levitation, above a precious gold pedestal.

FKA twigs, the face of Good Fortune

Grounded firmly in the present moment as a visionary performer and artist with an engaging social presence, FKA twigs is a Grammy Award nominated artist whose innovations across the fields of music, movies, visual arts and dance represent future worlds and draw from past ones. She debuted as a songwriter and singer in 2012 with EP1. Like her dancing, her music draws on a variety of styles, including electronic, R&B and trip hop. “Not only is she one of today’s biggest pop stars, she’s also hugely creative. She’s an icon and absolutely the right personality for Good Fortune” say Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren. The campaign’s soundtrack “Killer” was tailor-made by FKA twigs.

“Like music and dance, I think the transcendental power of scent is a universal language that can communicate things far beyond words. Good Fortune is proudly feminine, and it makes me feel strong, sexy and powerful in an ethereal kind of way. The jasmine, vanilla and fennel combine in such a beautiful way, which evolves as it spends time on your skin, and I find it very memorable.”
