L'Oréal Groupe Recognized As Supplier Engagement Leader By CDP For 7th Consecutive Year
Clichy, July 25th, 2025 - For the seventh consecutive year, and since this evaluation was first established, L'Oréal Groupe has been named a Supplier Engagement Leader by CDP. This recognition illustrates our active role in driving climate action across our global value chain.
At L’Oréal, our commitment to a more sustainable future extends far beyond our own operations. It encompasses our entire ecosystem, especially our valued partners: our suppliers. We are proud to announce that this collaboration and our leadership in supply chain sustainability have been recognized by CDP, the global non-profit organization that runs the world’s leading environmental disclosure system.
What is supplier engagement and why is it crucial?
CDP’s Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA) evaluates how effectively companies, such as L’Oréal, engage with their suppliers on climate change issues. This critical process empowers purchasing organizations to drive significant environmental improvements through collaboration.
To be recognized as a Supplier Engagement Leader, CDP examines a company’s performance based on key questions related to its governance, targets, Scope 3 emissions (indirect emissions related to the value chain), and engagement actions with its value chain, as reported in its CDP Climate Change questionnaire. The highest-rated companies are featured on the Supplier Engagement Leaderboard.
How L’Oréal supports suppliers in climate action
Since 2007, L’Oréal has actively involved its suppliers in measuring and reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by encouraging them to participate in the CDP Supply Chain program. Each year, more and more of our suppliers join us on this journey. We encourage them to set ambitious, science-based emissions reduction targets (SBTi-aligned).
To support them in this transition, we provide concrete assistance:
· Individual coaching: tailored guidance to help our suppliers understand and reduce their environmental footprint.
· Webinars and learning sessions: opportunities to share best practices, new technologies, and key insights.
· Global meetings: platforms for exchange, collaboration, and mutual learning.
This 7th consecutive recognition as a Supplier Engagement Leader reflects our deep commitment to supporting our partners’ progress toward a more sustainable future. By empowering our business ecosystem, we collectively contribute to the transition toward a net-zero and more sustainable economy. Our goal is clear: to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, upstream transportation and distribution, and business travel by 28% by 2030 compared to 2019 levels. This engagement from our suppliers is essential to achieving this.
A recognition that underscores our global environmental leadership
This distinction as a Supplier Engagement Leader further strengthens L’Oréal’s overall environmental leadership, which was already recognized earlier this year. In February 2025, L’Oréal Groupe received CDP’s Triple ‘A’ score for the ninth consecutive year. This recognition highlights our exemplary performance and transparency in climate, forests, and water security.
