L’Oréal named a CDP Supplier Engagement Leader for the 8th year in a row

How L’Oréal is Leading the Way

in Supplier Decarbonization

Clichy, February 27th, 2026 – For the eighth consecutive year—and every year since this evaluation was first established—L’Oréal Groupe has been named a Supplier Engagement Leader by CDP. This recognition highlights L’Oréal’s consistent and active role in driving climate action across its global value chain.

The Strategic Importance of Scope 3 in Climate Action

At L’Oréal, the commitment to a more sustainable future encompasses our entire ecosystem, starting with our suppliers. Addressing environmental impact is a collective challenge, especially considering that most of our carbon emissions are linked to our Scope 3, which includes the Group’s value chain emissions. Engaging our partners in a decarbonization trajectory is therefore a strategic necessity to achieve our climate ambitions.

Driving Environmental Improvements Through Collaboration

CDP’s Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA) evaluates how effectively companies engage with their suppliers on climate change issues. This process empowers purchasing organizations to drive significant environmental improvements through collaboration. To be recognized as a Leader, CDP examines performance based on governance, targets, Scope 3 reporting, and engagement actions as reported in the CDP Climate Change questionnaire.

L’Oréal has actively involved its suppliers in measuring and reducing their greenhouse gas emissions since 2007 by encouraging participation in the CDP Supply Chain program. We provide concrete support to help our partners set ambitious, science-based emissions reduction targets (SBTi-aligned) through individual coaching, webinars and learning sessions, as well as global meetings.

Our Commitment to a More Sustainable Economy

This 8th consecutive recognition reflects our deep commitment to supporting our partners’ progress toward a more sustainable future. By empowering our business ecosystem, we collectively contribute to the transition toward a net-zero and more sustainable economy.

To achieve this, the engagement of our suppliers is essential to reach our dedicated target: reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, upstream transportation and distribution and business travel by 28% by 2030, compared to 2019.

A Pillar of Global Environmental Leadership

This distinction as a Supplier Engagement Leader further strengthens L’Oréal’s overall environmental leadership. Earlier this year, L’Oréal Groupe also received CDP’s Triple ‘A’ score for the tenth consecutive year, highlighting exemplary performance and transparency in climate change, forests, and water security.

At L’Oréal, our actions are underpinned by a desire for constant improvement and an unwavering commitment to drive positive change as a leader, believing that economic performance and environmental responsibility are inseparable.
