The L’Oréal Fund for Women

Since the launching of the Fund in 2020, approximately 240 frontline non-profit organizations were supported, which have directly helped more than 1,230,000 women and girls, and this is more than 8,000,000 people supported in total including their families and communities who have indirectly benefitted from the activities supported by the Fund.

After 3 years of existence (2020-2023), the Fund for Women is renewed for three additional years (2023-2026) with a budget of €30 million, to keep pursuing our ambition to address the social challenges of our world, in line with the ambition of the L’Oréal for the Future sustainability program towards 2030.

Why we are supporting women

Over the past years, women have lost 64 million jobs worldwide (Oxfam, 2023) and represent 2/3 of the 828 million people concerned by hunger. The intensification of violence against women, in the pandemic aftermath, has prompted ‘an epidemic of shadows’: one in two women (18-49 years old) has suffered from violence or know a victim of violence (UN Women, 2022). More than 13 million girls are likely to be forced into marriage by 2030 (Oxfam, 2022).

Yet, only 4% of bilateral international aid programs are primarily aimed at supporting women. (OECD, 2022). Supporting women is necessary to build a sustainable, fair and inclusive future.
