Created in 2020 to address the social emergencies exacerbated by the pandemic, the L'Oréal Fund for Women has already supported more than 500 grassroots organizations worldwide and helped over 6 million women and girls.*
In 2026, L'Oréal decided to renew this commitment with an endowment of 50 million euros over five years (2026-2030). This new phase will ensure the long-term impact of the L’Oréal Fund for Women with a clear ambition: to provide direct support to an additional 5 million women by 2030.
To achieve this, the Fund has chosen to refocus its actions around four priority strategic pillars:

  • Economic empowerment
  • Access to education
  • Combating violence
  • Access to sexual and reproductive health

This commitment is fully aligned with L'Oréal's mission and its sustainability program, L'Oréal for the Future. Alongside other philanthropic initiatives, it contributes to improving the well-being, empowerment, and resilience of girls and women in situations of extreme vulnerability.

Why we are supporting women

Systemic violence remains a brutal reality: according to the WHO, one in three women worldwide — approximately 736 million women — has experienced physical or sexual violence at least once in her lifetime. UNICEF also reports that one in five girls is still married before the age of 18.
In light of this reality, the L’Oréal Fund for Women is pursuing its commitment to act within its scope to ensure respect for the fundamental rights of women and girls in situations of extreme vulnerability.

To achieve this, the Fund supports non-profits and NGOs. As genuine grassroots organizations, these partners act on the front lines. Their agility and local presence allow them to deploy immediate responses tailored to local realities. This deep understanding of the issues is key to ensuring effective protection and long-term support for women in situations of extreme precariousness.

Women at risk when facing armed conflicts

Loreal fund for women Support

While 676 million women and girls live in the immediate vicinity of combat zones, they bear the full brunt of the surge in conflict-related sexual violence (+87% between 2022 and 2024).

In this critical context, where access to essential healthcare has been devastated, the Fund continues its emergency response for women and girls in the most exposed crisis areas. It supports the UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency) in protecting refugee women, who are the primary victims of forced displacement. Simultaneously, our partnership with Médecins du Monde ensures essential access to basic healthcare for women and girls in these crisis zones.
