Valerie Michaut, Director: Alternative Methods & Reconstructed Skin

For more than 7 years I’ve led the team at L’Oréal working on non-animal methods and reconstructed skin. I’ve always been passionate about science and the good it can do for the world around us. It’s this passion that makes me come into work every day. I’m proud that we have always been ahead of our time with non-animal methods for safety assessment, developing things like reconstructed skin and digital models. Having these tools helped us stop testing the safety of our products on animals back in 1989 and we have not looked back since.
