The role of a maintenance engineer inside the factory

The objective of maintenance is to keep the activity of the technical teams running smoothly and to improve our productivity. For example, we have started use the “Mobility Work” application. The factory technicians all have smartphones and when they carry out maintenance on a machine, they flash a QR code.

That lets them access a maintenance plan, consult the previous maintenance operations on that machine and even record their repair work. All of the spare parts are listed in the application software. All of the incoming and outgoing parts are recorded by the software which then orders new supplies automatically when needed.

In the factory, we have identified 800 pieces of machinery on which the technicians record every single intervention. L'Oréal is truly a great company to work for as we get to run big, ambitious projects. As an engineer, that is very satisfying.
