Dhimoy Roy’s unique background in quantum physics research and expertise in beauty science led him to L'Oréal over a decade ago. A passionate innovator, he is driven by a vision of inclusive and sustainable beauty for all.
An Indian by origin, Dhimoy has lived and worked in five countries. He understands diverse beauty cultures and consumer needs across emerging markets, specializing in creating groundbreaking innovations that impact lives. His expertise spans leading high-performing teams, developing successful innovation strategies, translating regional beauty trends into globally relevant products, and fostering emerging talent within the scientific community.
Dhimoy's global career at L'Oréal began in 2012 as a researcher in China. In 2013, he moved to India managing hair care innovation for L'Oréal Paris and Garnier in South Asia, and then to Japan in 2016 as General Manager of Innovation for North Asia. In 2020, Dhimoy moved to South Africa to lead product development for Sub-Saharan Africa, putting African beauty and innovation on the global map. Since 2022, as R&I Director for the South Asia Pacific, Middle East & North Africa (SAPMENA) Zone and now as R&I Deputy Head for Emerging Markets, based in India, Dhimoy leads beauty innovation for L’Oréal Groupe in the fast-growing emerging markets of SAPMENA, the African continent and Latin America.
Dhimoy champions diversity and inclusivity in science, and actively mentors young talent. He is passionate about disruptive innovation and powering beauty that inclusive, borderless and sustainable. His leadership is evident in numerous patents and scientific publications, solidifying his reputation as a leader in R&I and beauty science.
